"Do It tomorrow" by Mark Forster
I've recently been re-reading Do It Tomorrow and Other Secrets of Time Management by Mark Forster.
These are my notes:
- Reactive brain (not intelligent) vs rational brain (intelligent).
- Do it now or do it tomorrow.
- What needs an immediate response?
- What requires a same-day response?
- What can be done tomorrow?
- Open lists (to do lists) vs closed lists (checklists).
- Do all the tasks every day.
- If you do all the tasks, the order you do them in doesn't matter.
- Resistance.
- Do one thing at a time. Avoid context switching.
- Work in short bursts to avoid procrastination.
- What is the current initiative? What is the first thing you do every day?
- Write a "Will do" list, not a "To do" list.
- Take breaks, have a definitive finish time.
- Continuous projects.
